How The HSA Works

With an HSA, Otsuka helps you save tax-free for current and future healthcare expenses. Use your HSA money to pay for qualified medical, prescription, dental, vision, and hearing expenses (like deductibles, copays, and coinsurance). The money in your HSA is always yours—even if you switch medical plans, leave Otsuka, or retire.

HSA Contributions

Otsuka contributes to your HSA; you may contribute, too, up to the annual IRS limit. Otsuka will contribute $1,000 for employee-only coverage and $2,000 for family coverage for Consumer Select Plan and $500 for employee-only coverage and $1,000 for family coverage for the Consumer Value Plan.

Otsuka's contribution will be deposited semi-annually, in January and July.

Investing Your HSA Savings

Once your HSA balance is over $1,000, you can invest your money tax-free in a self-directed brokerage account or in mutual funds. Review your investment options on Anthem’s member portal.
